The Filmwerkplaats is equipped to facilitate individual artists throughout the production process of their films. It's possible to go from unexposed filmstock to final exhibition print without having to rely on commercial labs or rental companies.
Our lab has three darkrooms and is equipped with multiple Bolex 16mm cameras, processing tanks for 8mm, 16mm and 35mm film, a black-and-white developing machine, super8, 16mm and 35mm editing tables, two 16mm J-K optical printers, a Bell&Howell continuous contact printer, an optical sound negative machine and an Oxberry Optical Printer, recently acquired through crowdfunding. There are also loop-systems for exhibition purposes and a large number of film projectors.
Because most of the equipment is irreplaceable, new members will be given an introductory workshop on any machine or tools they want to operate.
